If you are planning a development in Little Maplestead, whether it's just a conservatory or a major scheme for several hundred houses, please first talk to the Parish Council; our local knowledge and experience may be able to save you time and/or money.

Similarly, if a neighbour is planning something you're not happy with - or that you wish to support - please contact us; we need feedback from parishioners to help inform the Council's response.

Planning Applications

Little Maplestead Parish Council is a consultee on all planning applications within the parish and on major applications in adjoining parishes.

Braintree District Council is the local planning authority, and is responsible for deciding whether a development should go ahead; it is BDC who have the final decision on whether an application is granted or refused.

Details of current planning applications in the parish can be seen by going to the Planning Page of the BDC website, entering the application's Planning Reference Number, or other key word, post code or a single line of the address, and clicking 'Search'. Historic applications can be viewed here, and you can sigh up to receive weekly application alerts here.

Alternatively, planning applications can be viewed in person, by quoting the allocated Reference Number, at:

Braintree District Council Planning Office,

Causeway House,

Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB

If you have any comments/questions about local planning applications, please e-mail any of the Little Maplestead Parish Councillors, or the Clerk
